I Love An Old Dog

Dear Readers,

It seems like I have always loved old dogs. As a matter of fact, I can't remember having more than one "new dog" in my lifetime.

The "new old dog" in my life has prompted me to start recording our life together.

The universe is a river and life is a waterfall along that river. At birth, we each become a drop of water at the waterfall and are separated from the river. For this fleeting moment, we are individuals traveling in the same direction. No two drops take an identical path. But we all end up in the same place at the bottom of the waterfall, at the end of life, when we rejoin with the river. In this way, death is the same as life and we need not fear it. -- Zen Buddhism
